MediXo By 12 Brand didn’t begin in a lab or a pitch meeting. It began in the quiet, difficult, and deeply human moments of living with a rare disease — moments where Judi, my wife and caretaker, stood beside me, carrying not just the daily realities of my condition, but the emotional weight of a system that too often leaves people to fend for themselves.
Before MediXo, there was Hugs For Mito, our nonprofit built to wrap arms — literal and symbolic — around patients, caregivers, and families facing mitochondrial disease. But we never stopped there — we championed for all rare diseases.
HUGS stood for Help Us Give Strength. For Mito meant Motivate & Inspire To Overcome. We sent comfort and community out into the world through those four letters — a promise that no one in this fight would ever feel invisible.
When MediXo was born, those values didn’t disappear — they evolved. The XO in our name carries the same message: hugs and kisses for everyone we serve. A constant reminder that innovation means nothing if it doesn’t carry humanity with it.
And then there’s 12 — my favorite number, my birthday, 12/12, a quiet signature woven into everything we create. From the clothing we once sold — sweatshirts, sweatpants, each carrying a “12” so people knew I was with them — to the devices we will send into the world. My hope is that every MediXo product will carry that same number, a mark of protection, presence, and care. A way of saying: I’m watching over you.
Our journey has been shaped not just by the challenges of my own health, but by the complexities of family, resilience, and love. We developed the MediXo ecosystem because piecemeal solutions weren’t enough. People deserve devices, systems, and partnerships that work seamlessly together — designed with precision, inclusivity, and lived experience at their core.
This is MediXo: Born from a personal fight, built for the fights others are still facing. A place where care meets innovation, and where every “12” is a promise that you are not alone.
